Animal Loss Grief Support Group

Free Monthly Online Gathering

Losing an animal, or facing the possibility of saying goodbye, can bring a kind of grief that isn't always fully understood or given enough space.

This free monthly online group is for anyone grieving the loss of an animal, experiencing anticipatory grief, or navigating the difficult decisions that can come with end-of-life care, including euthanasia.

It's a space to come together, share our experiences, remember the animals we've loved, speak about what we're going through, or just listen and be with others who understand.

There's no particular way you need to feel, no timeline to follow, and no expectation to share more than you'd like.

My hope is to create a space where grief doesn’t need to be explained, changed, or made smaller. Where we can meet ourselves and one another wherever we are, with room for the love, the loss, and everything that comes with it. Just somewhere we can bring our grief and be with people who understand what we're going through.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

My hope is that this can be a space where everyone feels welcome and respected. A few things to help us create that together:

Share only what you'd like to. There's no expectation to speak or share your story. You're just as welcome to listen.

Respect each other's experiences. Grief looks different for everyone. There's no right or wrong way to feel, and we don't need to compare our experiences.

Listen without trying to change or fix. Sometimes being heard and understood is enough. Before offering advice or suggestions, ask whether someone would welcome them or would prefer to be heard.

Respect privacy. What others share in the group stays within the group. Sessions won't be recorded, and I ask everyone to respect each other's confidentiality.

Respect personal decisions. This includes decisions around euthanasia and end-of-life care. We can listen and support one another without judging or making those decisions for someone else.

Take care of yourself in whatever way you need. You're welcome to pause, move around, turn off your camera, or step away at any point.

This is a space for mutual support and connection, rather than therapy or professional grief counseling.

  • “We can miss what was, love what remains, and not yet know how to hold both.”

  • “They were never just animals. They were part of how we experienced the world, and part of who we became along the way.”

  • "Grief is not something we need to leave behind, but something we learn to make room for as life continues.”
